C A R I B O U

The southern Avalon Peninsula boasts of the largest Woodland Caribou herd on the island.  Even though the herd has been reduced in recent years because of parasites such as brainworm, there are still plenty to be photographed.  On a recent trip, I was fortunate to have seen quite a few caribou, in fact they were blocking the road.  It was quite a thrill to see so many caribou close to the road.  As you will see from the photos, there were quite a few people there to witness the event. I have other caribou photos on my education site.

Because of space constraints, I have only 20 images on this site. If you are interested in seeing more, please let me know.  If you require photos of caribou, please feel free to contact me and I can provide a wider selection by email.
